In this time of reflection at home, please try to eat well and take good care of yourself. This is from Chapter One of the Stop Picking On Me book:
Diet is Crucial
You have been lied to and manipulated pretty much by most medical professionals. It’s not their fault. They don’t know they’re lying. They went to medical school. They are all good people who paid a lot of money and worked really hard to become healing “experts.” However, many of the schools they attend are broken, and quite possibly corrupt.
“A 2013 report on the state of US health identified dietary factors
as the single most significant risk factor for disability and premature death. Despite the wealth of knowledge linking food and health,
nutrition receives little attention in medical practice.”“A recent survey of medical schools revealed an average of fewer than twenty hours over four years devoted to nutrition education —
American Journal of Medicine
most of which occurs in the early years when basic science courses are taught, typically with little apparent connection to human diets or common diseases.”
So, who can blame these well-meaning doctors? After spending thousands and thousands of dollars and probably having a lifetime of student loans to pay back, and going through eight or usually more years of solid education, these doctors get tired of studying and learning. And many probably don’t want to hear that they were inadequately educated on the role of basic human fuel.
As you will learn, you are what you eat and everything is connected.
